In addition to fostering business growth, Build Your House Exhibition have a significant impact on nurturing the next generation of designers in Qatar. Annually, BYH hosts a competition for interior design students from VCUarts University – the Competition Educational Partner, providing a platform for young talent to showcase their creativity. Three finalists receive invaluable industry exposure as their designs are showcased at the exhibition, offering them a unique opportunity to connect with professionals and gain recognition. A jury from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) MEA, selected the three shortlisted competition winners who also enjoyed displaying their winner entries at the VCUarts Qatar booth. The final day of Build Your House 2024 celebrated Qatar’s emerging design talent with an appreciation ceremony honoring the winners of the VCUarts Qatar Student Competition. Amidst cheers and applause, Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family for the State of Qatar, presented the awards. Each winner was celebrated for their creativity and interpretation of the design brief.
